It looks like the first thing to drop in cinemas will be The Broken Hearts Gallery, which has had a confirmed US release date for post-lockdown. Executive produced by Selena Gomez, the romance story stars Stranger Things’ Dacre Montgomery and Bad Education’s Geraldine Viswanathan, and has a scheduled US cinema release date of July 10.
July 10! That’s SOON! And while a release date for the UK is to be confirmed, this is surely a good sign for the future of cinema visits.
Via Deadline, Gomez said in a statement of her new film: “Hearing from more female writers and directors is very much needed. [Director] Natalie [Krinsky] is a wonderful talent, and I am happy to be a part of her debut film.
“I understand people’s concerns regarding returning to activities we all loved prior to COVID-19. I hope everyone will listen to scientists’ recommendations and consider others’ health and safety while enjoying the movie theater [sic] experience.”
